According to information from the Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police, from January 1 to October 31, 2024, the capital's traffic police handled 62,272 drivers violating alcohol concentration, revoking 22,832 driving licenses of all types.
According to statistics, alcohol concentration violations are still mainly concentrated in motorbike drivers with 60,526 cases, the number of violations detected in car drivers is 1,279 cases.
The leader of the Hanoi Traffic Police Department said that in the process of handling violators of alcohol concentration, the working groups also conduct verification. If the individual is a cadre, civil servant or public employee, the Traffic Police will notify the agency or unit that manages the cadre for consideration and handling according to regulations.
"Driving a vehicle with alcohol in the blood or breath always poses a risk of traffic accidents. Therefore, handling traffic law violations will be strictly implemented by the authorities with the spirit of respecting the law, with no forbidden areas and no exceptions" - Colonel Tran Dinh Nghia, Head of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police, shared.
