On the evening of May 1, speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thang Loi commune - confirmed the above information.
According to initial information, at around 4:30 p.m. the same day, at the beach in Tan Dinh village, Thang Loi commune, a group of 4 students from schools in Mo Duc district went swimming and were suddenly swept away by large waves.
People promptly discovered and rescued D.V.B. (16 years old) in Duc Nhuan commune, Mo Duc district. The remaining three missing students include: L.M.K. (16 years old), L.B.L. (14 years old) both in Mo Duc district and D.M.T. (14 years old) in Ba To town, Ba To district, Quang Ngai province.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Quang Ngai Province Police were present at the scene, coordinating with local authorities to search for the missing students.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuong said that although it was dark, rescue work was still being urgently deployed in the area where the incident occurred.
