From August 31 to September 3, it is estimated that Vietnam's tourism industry will serve about 3 million tourists, an increase of 20% over the same period in 2023.

The average room occupancy rate at tourist accommodation establishments during the September 2 holiday reached 56%, an increase of 1.85% compared to the 2023 holiday. Particularly on September 1 and 2, 2024, room occupancy rate reached over 60%.

To meet the needs of tourists, many localities have coordinated with local tourism businesses to proactively innovate and build diverse and attractive tourism products, organize cultural events, festivals, promotional programs... to attract tourists, increase spending and length of stay of tourists.

Accordingly, Than Uyen (Lai Chau) organized the program "Sparkling colors of Than Uyen". The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Hanoi) with the highland market "Happy Independence Day". Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai) with the art program "Shape of the country" and organized the Son Tra Festival. Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh) was bustling with tourist activities "hunting for white cloud hats", Chhay dam drum dance, pentatonic music...

The weather was basically favorable across the country, so the target of serving guests and total revenue from tourists in the provinces and cities increased quite well compared to the same period last year. Some localities recorded high increases, especially Binh Thuan, which welcomed more than 3 times more visitors than the same period in 2023.

According to statistics, Ho Chi Minh City is estimated to welcome and serve 980,000 visitors (up 2% over the same period in 2023); Hanoi: 672,900 (up 5%); Hai Phong: 580,000; Khanh Hoa: 578,219 (up 2%); Ba Ria - Vung Tau: 555,984 (up 4.0%); Quang Ninh: 455,000 (up 19%); Thanh Hoa: 395,700 (up 20.4%); Binh Thuan: 385,000 (up 3.3 times); Nghe An: 320,000 (up 19%); Da Nang: 308,000 (up 21.2%); Lao Cai: 196,500; Kien Giang: 159,176 arrivals (up 25.6%); Lam Dong: 132,000 arrivals (up 10%); Thua Thien Hue: 130,000 arrivals (up 32.7%)...
