In Lao Cai, the circulation of storm No. 10 Bualoi caused heavy rain, the water level of the Red River has risen the highest since the beginning of the season.

According to the Lao Cai Provincial Hydrometeorological Station on September 30, at the Lao Cai hydrological station, the flood on the Red River has peaked and is at 83.44m, 0.06m below alert level 3.

Since the afternoon of September 29, many communes and wards of Lao Cai province have been submerged in floodwaters. The common rainfall was 70-150mm, in some places exceeding 250mm, causing widespread flash floods, flash floods and landslides. Many tourist attractions in Lao Cai were flooded and isolated by landslides, affecting tourism activities.

Mr. Nguyen The Hoang (30 years old), a tourist from Da Nang visiting Sa Pa at this time, encountered many difficulties due to many cut off routes.

At the location where he was staying near the center near Sa Pa market, landslides occurred, causing difficulties for vehicles. Many areas were flooded.

The authorities quickly arrived to fix the landslide and instruct local people to move on other safer routes.

Ms. Ngoc Anh, representative of a tour company in Sa Pa, said: " Cat Cat village is still raining and the landslide has not been fixed. Continuous heavy rain since yesterday has caused flood waters to rise even more.

Another group of tourists from among us is currently staying in Ta Van village, however, because the weather has not improved and the roads are still eroded, we try to support and arrange for tourists to temporarily stay in people's houses."

In addition, Ms. Anh also revealed that all tourists staying in Sa Pa on September 29 are supported by the hotel for free accommodation until traffic is resolved.

As for tourists planning to visit Sa Pa in the coming days, the company will issue warnings as well as support for reservation and rescheduling for tourists.

A representative of Hotel de la Coupole Sapa - MGallery said that the hotel will support booking and relocating accommodation if customers still have a need in the future.

Mr. Vu Dai Duong, Permanent Vice President of Lao Cai Tourism Association, shared: Currently, there is a landslide at Km120, National Highway 4D (Lao Cai - Sa Pa). The weather has improved, the rain has stopped, and the flood water has not receded completely. We also hope that the route from Sa Pa to Lao Cai will soon be able to circulate again.

Lao Cai Tourism Association is calling for hotels and restaurants to reduce prices for tourists still stuck at tourist destinations due to floods.

At the same time, Lao Cai Tourism Association also issued a notice to tourists planning to visit Lao Cai in the coming days. According to Mr. Dai Duong, many tour groups have canceled their plans. On September 30, the business had to cancel a group of guests going to Sa Pa. Customers can choose to cancel or reserve their trips, and have support from partner businesses. For customers going to Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, the company proactively reserves for groups if customers do not want to depart.

According to the forecast, the circulation of storm No. 10 is still complicated, the risk of prolonged heavy rain, landslides and flooding in the area is very high. The authorities of Lao Cai province have recently issued an emergency flood notice on the Thao River at Yen Bai Station, Thao River at Lao Cai, and Chay River at Bao Yen.
