On March 20, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, signed a decision approving the Project on collecting, submitting, managing and using fees for visiting the scenic spots of Nha Trang Bay.
Accordingly, the subjects who must pay the fee are tourists visiting and traveling by inland waterway in the sea and islands within the boundaries of Nha Trang Bay (outside the strictly protected subdivision), except for organizations providing services to tourists visiting Nha Trang Bay.
The fee collection scope is determined from Ke Ga cape to Cu Hin cape, including islands and sea areas within Nha Trang Bay.
Toll collection points will be held at ports and wharves serving tourists visiting islands in Nha Trang Bay, including Vinpearl ports, yachts and licensed inland waterway wharves.
The fee ranges from VND6,000 to VND40,000/person/trip, applied uniformly to both Vietnamese citizens and foreign tourists. The Nha Trang Bay Management Board is the unit responsible for collecting this fee.
Specifically, the fee applied to the routes is as follows: Inland waterway wharf - Hon Mieu island is 6,000 VND/person/trip; Inland waterway wharves - Hon Tam island, Hon Tre island (Vinpearl), Hon Mot island have a fee of 8,000 VND/person/trip; Inland waterway wharf - Hon Mun island collects a fee of 10,000 VND/person/trip; the total of routes with the highest fee is 40,000 VND/person/trip.
In particular, the following subjects will receive a 50% reduction in entrance fees: children from 6 to 16 years old; people enjoying preferential cultural policies; people living in extremely disadvantaged communes under the Government's Program 135; people with meritorious services to the revolution; people subject to social policies.
Free admission for: children under 6 years old, citizens residing in Khanh Hoa; tourists swimming in the sea on the coastal waters of the mainland; residents living on islands in the bay; people with disabilities; and staff working at tourist attractions in Nha Trang Bay.
This fee collection project is part of the overall recovery plan for Nha Trang Bay, aiming to create a sustainable financial source to serve the management of the bay. Each year, the revenue from sightseeing fees is expected to reach over VND26.4 billion, helping to cover the activities of the Bay Management Board such as patrolling, controlling, rescue work, preserving, maintaining anchorage, repairing ships, environmental surveys, and collecting waste in the bay.
