The exhibition space of the Ministry of National Defense at the 80th National Achievements Exhibition attracts many people and visitors to experience virtual reality, shooting...

The exhibition space of the Ministry of National Defense is more than 24,000 m2, including an indoor area and an outdoor area. The interior space is designed like a vibrant historical museum, combining artifacts and documents with hologram, mapping, AI, VR, AR technology.

The focus of the activities for people and tourists is the shooting experience. The experience room is crowded with people coming and going from morning to night.

This system has been equipped for special reconnaissance forces of the army and brigade in the Vietnam People's Army, and has also been exported. In particular, the Royal Philippine Police are using this system in training.

Mr. Ta Thanh Tung (Dong Anh, Hanoi) shared: "This is the first time I have participated in simulated shooting. The feeling of holding a gun is quite similar. It is a real gun, and it has more air and jostling in the core, so it recreates the feeling of shooting in reality".

The male tourist assessed this experience as very useful, giving people the opportunity to access the shooting experience, such as when participating in a military mission. Thereby, each person understands more about the difficulties, hardships and even the maturity of soldiers.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quyet, Software Development Engineer, Simulation Center (Viettel High-Tech Corporation), said that the shooting simulation system has a CO2 gas wireless jack-up device, deploying quick operation.

"We are currently equipped with guns such as AK47, K54, SVD and can expand to many other types of guns, including both deadly and non- deadly weapons. We have mastered simulation technology and calculated standard flight trajectories according to reality," said engineer Nguyen Ngoc Quyet.

Another highlight is the virtual reality experience recreating the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh trail.

Visitors wear VR glasses, playing the role of a soldier driving a "glassless car" carrying a bomb or bullet to the front line. They had to drive through a forest with fallen leaves due to toxic chemicals, avoid enemy bombers, overcome a bomb hole and many obstacles...

Nguyen Danh Trung (Tu Son, Bac Ninh) believes that this driving experience is more difficult than normal drivers, because the steering wheel is different and more difficult to master.

"When I wore virtual reality glasses, I initially felt a little uncomfortable. When the glasses were removed, the body was still moving, so it felt a little dizzy. I can only imagine the hardship of our soldiers in the past when driving on forest and mountain roads. Maybe if I were in that situation, I would definitely not be able to drive," Trung said.

The exhibition space of the Ministry of National Defense has a theme throughout the year: "Vietnam People's Army - 80 years of independence - freedom - Happiness".

The content is divided into four exhibition areas and an experience area, telling stories through the flow of history: from the time of building the country, founding the Party (1930), the birth of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army (1944), August Revolution 1945, to major victories such as Dien Bien Phu 1954, Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air in 1972, Ho Chi Minh Campaign 1975.

The exhibition also has a 3D hologram of historical milestones, mapping of "mentary circles" showing images 1944-1975), simulating Cu Chi terrain, 3D map of Dien Bien Phu match and the "Dien Bien Phu in the air" match 19727. Visitors can also try a virtual shooting practice room designed by Viettel and the Military Technical Academy.

The island area is designed using marine wave mapping technology, smart seaport simulation, model of ships, high-tech equipment of the General Department of Defense Industry and the Institute of Military Science and Technology.
