    Vinh Long - The Canh Long sedge field is endlessly extended, covered in a velvet-like lush green color that is being harvested and dried by the people.

    During a recent trip to the West, photographer Nguyen Khanh Vu Khoa (HCMC) stopped in Cang Long commune, Vinh Long. He was very impressed by the harvested atmosphere of the people as well as the scene of the fields of sedge to the point of harvest covered in depleted green.
    Cang Long cung voi Vung Liem la hai xu so cua co lac, nam ben dong song Co Chien. Dien tich trong co lac o day rong toi hang ngan hecta, nhin tu xa cac canh dong co lac xanh ri nga theo gio trong nhu mot tam tham khong lo.
    Cang Long and Vung Liem are two lands of sedge, located along the Co Chien River. The area of sedge here is up to thousands of hectares wide, and seen from afar the windy green sedge fields that look like a giant carpet.

Mr. Vu Khoa shared his feelings after taking a photo series of Tra Vinh weeds season (Cang Long before the merger was a district in the old Tra Vinh province).

    Lanca trees have been grown in Cang Long for more than 20 years, developing well thanks to the characteristics of excess alum salinity, often flooded during the flood season and eroded during the dry season. The characteristic of the sedge plant in Cang Long is that it is than-dyed, up to 2m high, belonging to the sedge family, and can harvest an average of 3 harvests per year.

Today, people in Cang Long grow sedge to make materials for handicraft products such as chieu, perches, cushions, baskets... not only to sell domestically but also to find export routes to foreign countries.

    For the domestic market, Cang Long sedge provides raw materials for the Northern chieuction villages and Dinh Yen chieuction village in Dong Thap province.
