During the training session of U22 Vietnam on the afternoon of March 12, striker Nguyen Dinh Bac suffered a serious injury. He was immediately taken for a photo and was determined to have a broken big toe in his right foot.
He is expected to be out until the end of the 2024-2025 season. If he recovers well, Dinh Bac can return to participate in the 33rd SEA Games taking place at the end of the year in Thailand.
He is likely to miss the U23 Asian qualifiers in September. This is an unfortunate absence as Dinh Bac is performing well and has been given many opportunities at the Hanoi Police Club this season.
The player born in 2004 has played 15 times in V.League 2024-2025, including 9 starting matches, scoring 1 goal. He is one of the stars of U22 Vietnam when he regularly plays at the club level, and was called up to the national team to participate in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.
Coach Kim Sang-sik also gave Dinh Bac a few opportunities during training sessions, or focused on friendly matches.
