On the evening of March 23, U22 Vietnam held Uzbekistan to a 0-0 draw at the 2025 CFA Team China friendly tournament. This is also the second draw for coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team in this tournament.
Before that, U22 Vietnam drew 1-1 with U22 Korea in the opening match. With these results, the "Golden Star Warriors" temporarily ranked second in the group with 2 points, equal in points and goal difference with U22 Uzbekistan but with a better goal difference.
Evaluating the players' performances after the two matches against Korea and Uzbekistan, coach Dinh Hong Vinh said: "Both opponents are very strong, have good physical and technical foundations, but my students have shown confidence and adhered to the tactics well.
In the match against U22 Korea, the team played resiliently and had difficult times for the opponent. In the match against U22 Uzbekistan, the players made adjustments, especially in the defensive organization, helping us keep a clean sheet. However, there are still some points that need improvement, especially in taking advantage of opportunities in counter-attacking situations.
Regarding the draw with Uzbekistan, Mr. Vinh added: "We have prepared carefully and the players have deployed the game appropriately. The defense played focused, maintaining a good formation distance, not leaving many gaps for the opponent to exploit.
In attack, the team had some opportunities but could not take advantage. This is something we will continue to improve on to achieve higher efficiency in the upcoming matches. In general, this was a useful match, helping U22 Vietnam gain more courage when facing strong Asian teams".
In the final match, if they defeat U22 China and U22 Uzbekistan without defeating U22 Korea, Viktor Le and his teammates will be crowned the CFA Team China 2025.
"U22 China is a team that is well organized, disciplined and knows how to take advantage of opportunities. They drew 0-0 with Uzbekistan and won 1-0 against South Korea. That shows the strength and effective playing style of the home team.
The coaching staff will carefully analyze the playing style of U22 China to have the best preparation for the final match. This will definitely be an important match, not only in terms of results but also helping us to assess the players' abilities more accurately in high-pressure competition situations", coach Dinh Hong Vinh emphasized.
The match between U22 Vietnam and U22 China will take place at 6:35 p.m. on March 25.
