Ms. Nguyen Lan Nhi (Hanoi) asks: I heard that when the basic salary increases, the household health insurance contribution also increases. So, do I have to pay additional household health insurance that I have already paid when the basic salary increases?
Based on point b, Clause 3, Article 10 of Decree No. 146/2018/ND-CP dated October 17, 2018, of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of certain provisions of the Law on Health Insurance regarding the determination of the contribution amount and support for certain subjects when the state adjusts the health insurance contribution rate and the basic salary rate: “When the State adjusts the health insurance contribution rate and the basic salary rate, participants are not required to pay additional contributions or receive refunds for the difference due to the adjustment of the health insurance contribution rate and the basic salary rate for the remaining period for which the participant has already paid health insurance.”
Therefore, in the case of household health insurance participants who have already paid health insurance, there is no need to pay additional contributions for the increase when the basic salary increases.
