Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu is Chairman of the Acceptance Council. The topic was assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union to be implemented in 2024-2025, with Master Pham Thi Thanh Tam - President of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union as the subject.

Textile and garment is Vietnam's main export industry, and has been in the top 3 largest textile and garment exporting countries in the world for many consecutive years. With a workforce of nearly 2.5 million people, Textile and Garment also ensures social security and jobs for a large number of workers. However, workers in the textile and garment industry are currently facing one of the invisible barriers, which is the lack of information.
During the implementation process, the research team closely followed the approved plan in explaining the topic, ensuring the implementation progress in each stage, not only completing all the contents and products according to the explanation but also exceeding many important targets. That is, instead of compiling and publishing 2 scientific articles as committed, the group completed 10 articles with good quality, fully reflecting the research depth published in newspapers and magazines inside and outside the trade union system.
Information about field research activities, seminars, talks and in-depth interviews in many localities is widely communicated, contributing to improving the effectiveness of the dissemination and social interaction of the topic. The group has also completed the editing of specialized reference books - products that are not planned but have high academic and applied value.
In addition to the opening section, an overview of the research situation, conclusions, reference documents, appendices, and topics is organized into 3 chapters: Theoretical and practical basis for information access capacity of Vietnamese textile and garment workers; current situation of information access capacity of Vietnamese textile and garment workers; directions, solutions, and enhancement of information access capacity of Vietnamese textile and garment workers.
According to the analysis of the group implementing the theme, the ability to access information is a prerequisite for Vietnamese textile and garment workers to exercise their rights and obligations, participate in supervision and dialogue at the workplace. However, reality shows that this ability of employees still has many limitations. To effectively promote this role, there needs to be an orientation and a system of systematic solutions, based on theoretical and practical foundations.
The group implementing the topic made a number of recommendations to the Party and State; Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Vietnam Textile and Garment Group; and workers in the Vietnam Textile and Garment industry. Including the development of digital information infrastructure for workers; Building a network of "Digital Trade Union Collaborators"...
The topic was evaluated and classified by the Council as excellent.
