The Asia-Pacific Robot Innovation Contest organized by the Asia-Pacific Radio and Television Union (ABU Robocon) is a playground for students passionate about robotics from countries and regions. territory in the Asia-Pacific region.
In 2024, Vietnam is honored to become the host country of the Asia-Pacific Robot Innovation Contest (ABU Robocon 2024). The contest is organized by Vietnam Television, Quang Ninh province.
The contest theme "Harvest Day" was chosen to honor the value of agriculture, especially rice cultivation on terraced fields, a characteristic feature of Vietnamese culture.
Participating robots will have to perform tasks simulating the rice growing process, from sowing to harvesting.
The contest attracted 13 excellent teams with 350 contestants from countries and territories including: Japan, China, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong (China), Mongolia, Malaysia, Nepal, Egypt, Cambodia and Vietnam. In which, Vietnam has 2 representative teams from Hung Yen University of Technical Education.
The competition is expected to attract over 2,000 spectators; 200 cheerleaders (students of Ha Long University) and people watched live at the Sports Complex of Quang Ninh province and a large audience watched live broadcast on VTV and Center television. Quang Ninh province media.
Up to this point, the work related to the organization and preparation of the competition has been carefully carried out by Vietnam Television and Quang Ninh province.
The opening ceremony will take place from 12:00 - 15:00, August 25, 2024, with the following contents: Traditional Dance Performance; Presenting competition rules; The competing teams enter the field; Introducing the Jury and Referees; International Judges receive Certificates from the Organizing Committee; Started 13 preliminary matches.
At 5:00 p.m. on the same day, the closing ceremony and awarding of awards will take place.
