Microsoft has just given users the opportunity to experience GPT-5. the latest and most powerful major language model of OpenAI, through Smart Mode on AI Copilot chatbot.
This feature is being rolled out for free, without a Microsoft account required to use it.
GPT-5 not only appears on Copilot but also supports many other Microsoft products such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure AI Foundry and GitHub Copilot. With Copilot, users just need to access the official website from the browser, select "Smart mode" in the model selection below the text entry framework to start the experience.
Currently, the new feature has not appeared on the Windows Copilot application, showing that Microsoft is rolling out updates in stages.
Some users who were tested early said that the response from GPT-5 was significantly faster than previous versions, and there was no limit on the number of queries like the free ChatGPT package.
