The Vinh Long Provincial Red Cross Society said that 7 houses will be handed over to households in difficult circumstances in Tam Binh and Vung Liem districts.
This is a practical activity to eliminate temporary houses, contributing to the implementation of local social security goals.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Yen Phuong - President of the Provincial Red Cross Society - said that the program shows the concern of Party committees, authorities and the cooperation of benefactors to spread the spirit of humanity and sharing with the poor.
Each house worth 60 million VND is sponsored by main sponsors including Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. of Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Ben Tre, Binh Thuan provinces and mobilized by Mr. Mai Huu Anh - lottery agent of the Southern provinces.
According to the plan, on June 16, 2 houses in Phu Thinh commune, Tam Binh district will be handed over. On June 19, 5 houses in Tan An Luong, Trung Hieu and Tan Quoi Trung communes, Vung Liem district continued to be handed over.
"The new houses are a meaningful gift, adding motivation for the poor to rise up, building a more stable and sustainable life," Ms. Yen Phuong added.
