On August 15, the Border Guard Command (BĐBP) of Ho Chi Minh City said that it had coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union to organize the program "Accompanying Border Women" in 2026, taking place in Tam Quang and Tam Thai communes of Nghe An province.
The program is implemented to promote the spirit of mutual affection, mobilize social resources to care for and create livelihoods for people in difficult circumstances in border areas. This is also a specific activity to concretize the program "Accompanying Border Women" for the period 2026 - 2030, contributing to enhancing the role of women in building a strong, peaceful, friendly, stable and developed border area.
In Tam Quang commune, the program presented 5 native cows; 5 pairs of native pigs and 50 gifts to people in difficult circumstances. In Tam Thai commune, the program also presented 3 native cows, 5 pairs of native pigs, 5 pairs of breeding goats, and 50 gifts to families in difficult circumstances. The total cost of care in the two areas is 337.5 million VND.
The gifts were handed directly to people in border areas, expressing the feelings of women's union members and officers and soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard towards people in border areas. Cows, goats, and pigs are not only material gifts, but also contribute to creating livelihoods to help households in border areas have more conditions to develop animal husbandry, create income sources and gradually improve their lives.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard, from these initial supports, it is hoped that families will continue to promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-strengthening, hard work, and effective use of support resources to gradually rise up in life.
Through the program, it will create long-term companionship, helping people have more conditions to develop the economy, build families, and especially work with the Border Guard force to firmly protect national sovereignty and border security; contributing to building a solid "people's heart formation" in the border area.
