Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued an Official Dispatch on organizing activities to celebrate Sene Dolta of the Khmer people in the city.
Accordingly, cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, soldiers of the armed forces and students of the Khmer ethnic group working and studying at agencies, units and schools in the area will have 3 days off for the 2025 Sene Dolta holiday (from September 21 to 23, 2025).
The City People's Committee requests directors of departments, heads of agencies, departments, branches, chairmen of commune and ward People's Committees and related units to proactively arrange work, arrange reasonable duty schedules, and create favorable conditions for Khmer cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, students to take a holiday in accordance with regulations.

Previously, the People's Committee of Can Tho City also issued a plan to organize activities to celebrate the Sene Dolta festival of the Khmer people in 2025.
Accordingly, the locality established 19 delegations led by leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, National Assembly Delegation, and representatives of departments, branches, sectors and related units to visit, congratulate and give gifts.
The delegations will visit former leaders of central ministries, departments and branches who are Khmer; dignitaries, monks, prestigious people in the community; Khmer families of policy beneficiaries, pensioners; a number of Khmer Buddhist pagodas, along with organizations and individuals who have contributed to ethnic work and built great national unity. In total, there will be 68 organizations, units and 61 families and individuals visited.
In addition to the visiting activities, the city also organizes a live TV show with the theme: "Celebrating Sene Dolta 2025 - Solidarity, innovation, integration and development". These activities not only help the Khmer people celebrate in a joyful, safe and economical atmosphere but also contribute to preserving and promoting the good traditional cultural values of the nation.
Through a series of activities, Can Tho city also propagates the Party's policies, the State's policies and laws, while encouraging Khmer people to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, contributing to the overall development of the city.
The Sene Dolta ceremony of the Khmer people in the South is one of the rituals with great significance in respect, remembering the act of giving birth to nurture the grandparents, parents, and passed away children. In addition, this ceremony also demonstrates the traditional beauty of cultural life, spirituality in religious and belief activities associated with religious and belief activities in the Khmer Pagoda in the South.
