The Government has issued Decree No. 66/2025/ND-CP stipulating policies for nursery children, students, and trainees in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, coastal and island areas and educational institutions with nursery children and students enjoying policies.
Article 6 of Decree 66/2025/ND-CP stipulates the level of policy benefits for semi-boarding nursery children, semi-boarding students, semi-boarding students, ethnic boarding students and university preparatory students as follows:
For semi-boarding nursery children who are supported with lunch money, each nursery child is supported with 360,000 VND per month and is entitled to no more than 9 months/school year.
Meanwhile, for boarding students and semi-boarding students, each student is supported with meal money of 936,000 VND per month and receives no more than 9 months/school year.
The Decree also stipulates the level of housing support for each boarding student, boarding students who have to own accommodation because the school cannot arrange accommodation in the school or 1st and 2nd grade students, disabled students who need to own accommodation near the school for relatives to take care of, each month they are supported with 360,000 VND and receive no more than 9 months/school year.
In addition to cash support, students who are subject to regulations are supported with rice at a rate of 15kg per student per month. The support period does not exceed 9 months/school year.
Grade 1 boarding students who are ethnic minorities who have learned Vietnamese before entering the grade 1 program are entitled to an additional 1 month of the policies specified in points a, b, c, clause 2 of this Article.
