Commemorating the 67th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Border Guard (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2026) and the 37th Anniversary of the All-People Border Guard Festival (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2026), on March 3, Hai Son Commune People's Committee coordinated with the Commune Fatherland Front Committee and Po Hen Border Guard Station to organize the "All-People Border Guard Festival" in 2026.
Attending the festival were Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan - Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard; Comrade Quan Minh Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Quang Ninh Provincial National Assembly Delegation; leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, along with representatives of departments, branches, armed forces and a large number of people in the area.
Hai Son is a mountainous, border commune of Quang Ninh province, with an area of 132.04km2, a population of 4,567 people; of which ethnic minorities account for over 90%.
The commune has a border line of 38.08km long, holding an important position in terms of national defense and security.
In recent years, the commune Party Committee and government have closely coordinated with Po Hen Border Guard Station and Bac Son Border Guard Station to effectively implement "National Border Defense Day" associated with the implementation of Directive 01 of the Prime Minister and resolutions on the National Border Protection Strategy.
The self-management movement of border lines and landmarks is maintained with 9 self-management groups, 67 members; 504 households signed commitments to participate in managing and protecting 20 border markers.
In 2025, people provided 103 pieces of information related to security and order, of which 63 pieces of information were valuable for border management and protection.
Speaking at the festival, Comrade Nguyen Chi Thanh - Standing Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial Fatherland Front Committee - affirmed that border guard work in the past time has made important contributions to socio-economic development, consolidating national defense and security of the province. The Border Guard force promotes its core role in managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and border security; and actively participates in building the grassroots political system, supporting people to develop the economy and reduce poverty sustainably.
The comrade requested Hai Son commune and border posts to continue to strengthen coordination, promote the overall strength of the entire political system and the great national unity bloc; promote propaganda and education of revolutionary traditions, especially with the young generation; build a solid "people's heart formation" at the border.
Within the framework of the festival, many practical activities were organized such as medical examinations, free medicine distribution; legal propaganda in the form of stage performances.
The festival part took place sôi nổi with women's football exchange activities, throwing balls, pushing sticks, spinning tops, crackling contests; visiting the "0 VND" booth, local agricultural product booth and organizing "Warm military-civilian solidarity meal" at Po Hen Border Guard Station.
On this occasion, 6 collectives and 12 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement "All people participate in protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security" were commended. Many gifts were also presented to policy families, households in difficult circumstances and students in the "Raising Steps for Children to School - Foster Children of Border Guard Stations" Program.
