On November 18, An Giang Provincial Police held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 2 19/8 Houses for households in especially difficult circumstances in Hoa Dien commune, An Giang province.
The two households receiving support this time are Mr. Le Van Be and Mr. Duong Nui, both residing in Hoa Giang hamlet, Hoa Dien commune. These are poor households with housing difficulties. The old house has seriously degraded and is unsafe, especially during the rainy and stormy season.
Each 19/8 House is designed with a solid structure, 8m x 4m area, ensuring to meet the basic living conditions for family members. The total construction cost is about 60 million VND/house, mobilized from socialized sources mobilized by the Provincial Police to mobilize philanthropists to contribute.
It is expected that both houses will be completed and handed over before the Lunar New Year 2026, helping households have new, spacious and safe housing to welcome the new year.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Kha Truong Vung - Deputy Head of the Political Affairs Department of An Giang Provincial Police said: the implementation of the 19/8 House not only contributes to improving living conditions for poor people but also demonstrates the spirit of "Serving the People" of the People's Public Security force.
This is an activity of profound humanitarian significance, and at the same time, it is the effort of the entire force in joining hands with the locality to effectively carry out social security work, supporting people in difficulty to stabilize their lives.
