On May 17, information from Nam Can Commune Police, Nghe An province said that the unit had just coordinated with functional forces to deploy patrols and controls in the border area in the area.

Faced with the potentially complex developments of crimes operating on the border line, especially the situation of illegal entry and exit and smuggling, Nam Can Commune Police have proactively coordinated with Nam Can International Border Gate Border Guard Station, the Military Command of the commune and the Commune Youth Union to develop a plan to patrol and strictly control the area.

During patrols, inter-sectoral forces focus on inspecting the border marker system, reviewing trails and border areas to promptly detect and prevent violations of the law, and prevent hotspots of security and order from arising.

Along with patrols and inspections, officers and soldiers also combine propaganda and mobilization of people in border areas to raise vigilance, actively denounce crimes, and strictly comply with regulations on border regulations.

According to Nam Can Commune Police, the coordination activities between the Police, Border Guard and Military forces of the commune contribute to consolidating the people's security posture, firmly protecting territorial sovereignty, and maintaining security and order in the border area.

Nam Can is an area with a strategic position in terms of national defense and security, with a border line of about 23.09km long with 7 national border markers; adjacent to 4 villages: Tham Poong, Din Dam, Luong Quang, Pha Ven belonging to Noong Het Tay cluster, Noong Het district, Xieng Khouang province, Lao People's Democratic Republic. Nam Can International Border Gate is also located in the area.
