In the early days of July 2025, when the two-level local government model officially went into operation nationwide, Ham Thuan Bac commune (Lam Dong) entered a new phase with many expectations and many challenges. For Ham Thuan Bac Commune Police, this is an important milestone, posing higher requirements in ensuring security and order right from the grassroots level, according to the Lam Dong Electronic Information Portal.
Established on the basis of merging Thuan Hoa, Ham Tri and Ham Phu communes of the old Binh Thuan province, Ham Thuan Bac commune has an area of nearly 300km2, including 12 villages with more than 31,000 people. The area is large, the population distribution is uneven, with about 2,500 Cham people living in Lam Giang and Lam Thuan villages. The main economic characteristics are agriculture and small-scale trading, requiring the commune police force to stick to the area and be close to the people to complete their tasks.
Immediately after the new model was deployed, the Commune Police urgently consolidated the organization, assigned tasks to each officer and soldier, ensuring that operations were not interrupted. Meanwhile, the volume of dossiers, population data and administrative procedures that need to be reviewed and updated after the merger has increased significantly.
The Commune Police Command has synchronously implemented many solutions to quickly stabilize the organization, clearly assign people, clearly assign tasks, and clearly assign responsibilities; and at the same time promote training, self-study and research on new regulations to meet task requirements.
In parallel with building forces, the Commune Police proactively advises the Party Committee and local authorities to implement solutions to ensure security and order. Identifying crime prevention as a key task, officers and soldiers regularly stick to the area, meet village heads, prestigious people, religious dignitaries and people to grasp the situation, promptly detect and resolve arising problems.
Armed patrol work is strengthened at key routes and areas, especially border areas and places with potential complexities in security and order. Through this, the Commune Police force has promptly detected, prevented, and handled many cases related to security, order, and social evils, contributing to maintaining local stability.
With the motto "going to each alley, knocking on each house", the Commune Police strengthened residence management, population management, and at the same time promoted propaganda and dissemination of laws, raising awareness of law compliance and the spirit of crime denunciation among the people, contributing to building the movement "All people protect national security".
In addition to professional tasks, Ham Thuan Bac Commune Police also actively participate in social security activities such as giving gifts to poor households, families in difficult circumstances, and students overcoming difficulties; participating in planting trees, environmental sanitation and supporting people in community activities.
With a spirit of responsibility and high determination, Ham Thuan Bac Commune Police have gradually stabilized their organization and adapted to the task requirements in the new period. The initial results contribute to maintaining security and order in the area, creating a foundation for the force to continue to promote its core role, meeting the expectations of the Party Committee, government and people.
