On the morning of July 27, on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), elder Venerable Thich Thien Nhon - Deputy Dharma Master of the Patronage Council, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha - presided over the ceremonies of gratitude to heroic martyrs at Quoc An Khai Tuong Pagoda (Long Phuoc commune, Dong Nai city).

At exactly 5 am, at the lower court of the pagoda, monks and Buddhists solemnly set up three bells and Bat Nha drums. The activity took place in harmony with temples across the country to respond to the call of the Central Church, respectfully commemorating and paying tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Immediately after that, Venerable Monks and Buddhists came to Long Thanh Martyrs' Cemetery to offer incense, observe a minute of silence and respectfully commemorate the great contributions of the heroic martyrs, who dedicated their youth and blood to the cause of national liberation and reunification.

The activity took place in a solemn atmosphere, showing the tradition of gratitude and repayment of Vietnamese Buddhism, and at the same time responding to the Official Dispatch of the Standing Committee of the Executive Council of GHPGVN.
Elder Venerable Thich Thien Nhon (Deputy Dharma Master of the Patronage Council, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha) affirmed that for more than 2,000 years of accompanying the nation, Vietnamese Buddhism has always promoted the tradition of "protecting the country and pacifying the people", practicing the morality of gratitude and repayment through activities to care for people with meritorious services, requiems and commemorate heroic martyrs. With that meaning, preserving the great national unity bloc, building a peaceful and prosperous country is the most practical way to repay gratitude to those who sacrificed for the Fatherland.
