These days, in Can Tho City, the atmosphere of preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026–2031 term is taking place urgently and sôi nổi. On many roads and residential areas, flags, flowers, banners, and propaganda slogans are hung solemnly, creating a joyful atmosphere towards the great festival of the whole people.

In areas with a large Khmer population, local authorities have flexibly promoted propaganda in Khmer, while promoting the role of reputable people, monks and religious dignitaries in the community. Many officials and organizations also directly "go to every alley, knock on every door" to propagate and explain the meaning of the election, guide the time and location of voting, helping voters understand the rights and obligations of citizens.

Typically, in Lai Hoa commune (Can Tho City), over 72% of the population is Khmer, propaganda work is implemented diversely, suitable to local characteristics. In addition to general propaganda forms, the commune also strengthens information in Khmer, and at the same time promotes the role of reputable people in the community to mobilize people to actively participate in elections.

In Lai Hoa commune, there are currently 11 hamlets, divided into 7 electoral units with 16 polling stations, including a separate polling station. Up to this point, the preparation for the election in the locality has basically ensured progress according to regulations.
Mr. Tran Kim Huy - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the Election Steering Committee of Lai Hoa commune (Can Tho City) said - the locality identifies propaganda work as a very important task, deciding the success of the election. Therefore, the Commune Election Committee has directed the implementation of many rich forms of propaganda to help voters understand the purpose and meaning of the election as well as the rights and obligations of citizens when participating in voting.

According to Mr. Huynh Diem, a voter in Lai Hoa A hamlet (Lai Hoa commune, Can Tho city), thanks to regular propaganda, people in the hamlet are well aware of information about the election day. The polling station is located at a pagoda in the area, so it is very convenient for people to participate.
On election day, people in the hamlet will definitely go to vote fully," he said.

Similarly, election propaganda work in Vinh Hai commune, an area of ethnic minorities in Can Tho City, is also being implemented flexibly, closely following local reality. In addition to integrating propaganda content in meetings and activities of mass organizations, the locality also focuses on promoting the role of prestigious people and religious dignitaries in the community.
Because the area has over 70% Khmer and Hoa people living, the commune has organized meetings and exchanges with the Management Board of Khmer pagodas and the Hoa Association to inform about the purpose, meaning and importance of the election.
Propaganda content is also integrated into religious activities, festivals and community gatherings. For Khmer people, information is transmitted in ethnic languages to ensure easy understanding and suitability with customs and habits.
