US Ambassador offers incense at Quang Tri Citadel

Quang Tri - US Ambassador to Vietnam Jennifer Wicks and the working delegation offered incense and commemorated the martyrs at Quang Tri Citadel.

On August 24, Ms. Jennifer Wicks - US Ambassador to Vietnam - and members of the working delegation of the US Embassy in Vietnam visited and offered incense at the National Special Relic Quang Tri Citadel.

Attending the delegation was Mr. Hoang Nam - Standing Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee.

In a solemn atmosphere, Ambassador Jennifer Wicks, members of the working delegation and leaders of Quang Tri province observed a minute of silence to commemorate the martyrs; offered incense at the National Special Relic Monument of Quang Tri Citadel.

This is one of the activities of the US Embassy delegation in Vietnam within the framework of the working trip to Quang Tri province.

On this occasion, Standing Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam exchanged views with Ambassador Jennifer Wicks and members of the delegation on the local efforts in overcoming the consequences of war, clearing bombs and mines, and supporting war victims.

Quang Tri province is also continuing to preserve, restore and promote the value of historical relics, thereby spreading messages of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

Quang Tri is a locality heavily affected by the war, and many areas are still contaminated with bombs and mines, explosives. The work of overcoming the consequences of the war, clearing bombs and mines, and supporting affected people has been implemented by the locality for many years with the support of international organizations.

Ms. Jennifer Wicks begins her term as US Ambassador to Vietnam in 2026.
