On the morning of January 19, in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province, the Command of Naval Region 5 organized the inauguration and handover of comrade houses to soldiers working at the unit, to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party.
At the ceremony, Rear Admiral Ngo Van Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of Naval Region 5, handed over the decision to hand over the comrade's house to the family of Senior Colonel professional soldier Pham Huu Quy, Staff Driver, Regiment 551.
Comrade Quy's family is in difficult housing circumstances, with young children, and his wife does not have a stable job; for many years they have had to rent a motel to live.
The house was built solidly, completed after more than 3 months of construction, with an area of 110 m2. The "For the Poor" Fund of the Ministry of National Defense allocated 60 million VND to support, the rest was saved by the family.
The activity of supporting the construction of comrade houses has profound humanistic meaning, showing the concern and care of heads at all levels for officers and soldiers; and at the same time promoting the tradition of solidarity, comradeship, and camaraderie, contributing to encouraging soldiers to feel secure in their work and successfully complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks.
