On May 31, at Vietnam Quoc Tu, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City solemnly organized the Great Ceremony to celebrate Buddha's Birthday on Buddhist calendar 2570 - Gregorian calendar 2026. In the sacred atmosphere of the Buddha's Birthday, thousands of monks, nuns, and Buddhists attended.


At the Great Ceremony, elder Venerable Thich Vien Minh read the Vesak Message of the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha sent to monks, nuns, and Buddhists at home and abroad. The message emphasized the special meaning of the Vesak ceremony not only as an occasion to commemorate the day the Buddha Shakyamuni appeared in life, but also as an opportunity for Buddhist children to look back at the life and teachings of the Buddha, thereby deeply understanding the humanistic and practical values that He left for humanity.

In the joyful celebration of Duc Tu Phu's Birthday, elder Venerable Thich Thien Nhon and representatives of city leaders offered a flower basket to offer to the Buddha; Venerable Thich Le Trang and Venerable Thich Thanh Phong on behalf of the Organizing Committee respectfully received it.
At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Van Bay sent congratulations on the 2570th Buddha's Birthday ceremony for its complete achievements, and at the same time acknowledged the positive contributions of the Church and monks, nuns, and Buddhists of the city in social security work, building the great national unity bloc and accompanying the development of the country.


Every year, the Buddha's Birthday Festival in Ho Chi Minh City is usually held with a series of rich events and activities. The Great Festival Week begins with the procession of Buddha from An Quang Pagoda to Vietnam Quoc Tu on the night of the 8th and ends with the official ceremony on the morning of the full moon of the fourth lunar month.
