On April 18, in Tran Yen commune, Lao Cai province, a large-scale free medical examination and medicine distribution program was organized, attracting nearly 2,000 people to participate.

The activity is implemented by local authorities in coordination with the Association of Volunteer Doctors and grassroots health forces, aiming to provide health care for people in rural areas, especially policy beneficiaries and those in difficult circumstances.
From early morning, people in 8 villages in the area were present to register for examination.
With the participation of a team of doctors and nurses from Hanoi and volunteers, the program has organized examinations and consultations for many specialties such as general medicine, ears, nose, throat, dentistry, eye and obstetrics and gynecology.

In addition, people also have access to paraclinical services such as ultrasound, electrocardiogram, blood tests, X-rays and cervical cancer screening.
Not only stopping at examination, doctors also provide detailed advice on how to prevent diseases, take care of health at home and distribute free medicine to people.
For many elderly people and poor households, this is a rare opportunity to have a comprehensive health check-up without worrying about costs.

In parallel with medical activities, the program also organizes gift giving to policy families, poor households, near-poor households and people in difficult circumstances in the area.
Although the gifts are not large, they show concern and sharing, contributing to encouraging the spirit of the people.
At Tan Dong Primary & Secondary School, the Volunteer Doctors Association also implemented a meaningful activity called "Little Book Page - Radiant Highlands". Hundreds of books have been donated to the school library, helping students have more conditions to study and access knowledge.
At the same time, students are also guided on personal hygiene skills, disease prevention and basic first aid knowledge in life.
The program not only brings practical health care benefits but also contributes to spreading the spirit of mutual affection in the community.
Thereby, strengthening people's trust in social activities, towards building a healthy, humane and sustainable community.
