Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 1245/QD-UBND, announcing the list of urban areas and wards meeting the regulations on urban development level in the area.
This is considered a step to concretize the arrangement of commune-level administrative units and urban classification according to resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
According to the approved list, the whole province has 2 type II urban areas, Lao Cai and Yen Bai, and 23 type III urban areas.
For ward-level administrative units, the decision also clearly identifies localities that have met the standards for urban development level.
In type II urban areas, Yen Bai ward is recognized as meeting standards. In type III urban areas, wards including Lao Cai, Cam Duong, Au Lau, Nam Cuong, Van Phu, Sa Pa, Nghia Lo, Trung Tam and Cau Thia are on the list of meeting criteria.
The announcement of the list is an important basis for localities to continue to improve management, promote infrastructure investment and improve the quality of life of urban residents in a synchronous and modern direction.
