Gia Lai needs to have specific policies to attract cadres to disadvantaged areas

Gia Lai - New communes in disadvantaged areas lack cadres with deep expertise such as finance, land management, information technology, etc.

On July 28, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province reported to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to propose specific mechanisms and policies to attract cadres to work in disadvantaged communes with weak infrastructure.

Ia Tul commune, Gia Lai province is in a group of particularly difficult mountainous communes, currently with 734 poor households, mainly ethnic minorities; the number of near-poor households is 729 households.

Weak infrastructure and staffing are still seriously lacking. These are "lowlands" in socio-economic development of Gia Lai province, which need special attention.

In Binh Hiep commune, one of the plains communes with many difficulties, people's economy mainly depends on agriculture; the multidimensional poverty rate is still high (7.42%, of which poor households account for 1.43%, near-poor households are 5.99%).

The commune also faces common difficulties such as shortages of staff and weak infrastructure. However, this place has the potential to develop thanks to the main traffic routes passing through such as: Quang Ngai - Quy Nhon Expressway, Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway, National Highway 19B connecting to Phu Cat Airport...

According to the assessment of the provincial authorities, most communes such as Ia Tul, Binh Hiep, Phu My... lack staff compared to the norm, directly affecting work efficiency.

In addition, most communes have reported the lack of professional civil servants in information technology.

In particular, the biggest and urgent challenge at present is the lack of a team of highly qualified civil servants, especially in professional positions under the government after the reorganization, such as: finance - planning, industry - construction, land administration - land management.

To solve difficulties and meet the public administrative needs of serving people and businesses, the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Provincial Party Committee consider and approve the policy of issuing specific mechanisms and policies to attract and stabilize the team of cadres and civil servants in disadvantaged communes.

In the immediate future, the province will organize training courses in the direction of "hand-shaped direction" so that commune civil servants can meet their tasks. At the same time, continue to develop projects and policies to create a source of staff to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
