On April 13, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province said that it had informed agencies and units about the propaganda of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Uncle Ho's Letter to the Congress of Southern ethnic minorities in Pleiku (April 19, 1946 - April 19, 2026), associated with the 1st Gia Lai Provincial Ethnic Culture Festival - 2026.
The activities aim to contribute to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values; introducing and promoting the image of ethnic minorities in the province. This is also an opportunity for ethnic groups to meet, exchange, and share experiences in cultural preservation, and strengthen solidarity in the locality.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province, propaganda work will be widely deployed among cadres, party members and people of all strata, in order to clarify the meaning and ideological value of great unity of President Ho Chi Minh, especially through the content of Uncle Ho's Letter to the Congress of Southern ethnic minorities in Pleiku and the national views and policies of the Party and State.
The content of propaganda focuses on changes in the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities; associated with patriotic tradition education, national unity spirit, thereby contributing to consolidating the strength of the great unity bloc and raising vigilance, defeating the plots and tricks of divisive forces of hostile forces.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province said that so far, the preparation for the 1st Gia Lai Provincial Ethnic Culture Festival - 2026 has been synchronously implemented in many fields.
Regarding the art program and cultural exchange night, the unit has coordinated to complete the script and large-scale stage idea, with an estimated budget of about 2 billion VND.
The folk art performance space has the participation of 19 localities, with 661 artisans from ethnic groups such as Bahnar, Jrai, Cham, Hre, Tay, Mong.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province is also preparing conditions to organize visits to the Relic Site of the reception of Uncle Ho's Letter sent to the Congress of Southern ethnic minorities in 1946 at the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee campus. At the same time, collecting and displaying about 120-150 images, documents, and tables excerpted about President Ho Chi Minh with Gia Lai ethnic groups.
Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich emphasized that the Festival is a particularly important event and a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Uncle Ho's letter to the Congress of Southern ethnic minorities.
With the presence of 44 brotherly ethnic groups in the area, this is a valuable cultural resource and asset that needs to be preserved and promoted through specific activities within the framework of the Festival.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich requested that the Festival must truly become a playground for the People, where ethnic minorities can promote creativity, express unique and typical features in traditional cultural life. Activities need to ensure authenticity, liveliness, and rich identity of each ethnic group, thereby creating a unique mark of Gia Lai.
