Ho Chi Minh City - An 83-year-old woman who strayed from Long Khanh (Dong Nai) to Tan Thanh ward has been supported in care and reunited with her family.

On August 19, Tan Thanh Ward Police (HCMC) said that they had coordinated with organizations and people to care for and support an 80-year-old woman who got lost and reunited with her family.

Previously, at about 4 pm on August 16, Tan Thanh Ward Police received a report from people about an 80-year-old woman wandering in the Hac Dich market area, showing signs of getting lost.

Therefore, the on-duty officer reported to the Ward Police Command, assigned grassroots security forces to take the old woman to the headquarters. Through contact, the old woman showed signs of forgetfulness, severe hearing loss, not remembering her full name, home address and relatives. Seeing the old woman tired, the force arranged people to take care of her, bought food and water...

Summarizing the disjointed information provided by the old woman, functional forces identified some details such as her hometown in Hue, living with her son in Long Khanh (Dong Nai)... Therefore, functional forces posted images and some information on social networking groups, connecting forces and people... to search for relatives. Even though it was evening, no relatives came to pick her up, Tan Thanh Ward Police contacted Ngoc Quang Retreat to arrange accommodation and care for her overnight.

At nearly 11 pm on August 16, the elderly woman's relatives contacted the Tan Thanh Ward Police, confirming that she was N.T. L (born in 1943), living with her son N.N.T in Long Khanh. On the morning of August 17, Mr. N.N.T was present to verify the relatives, and went to Ngoc Quang Retreat to pick up his mother.

The family of Mr. N.N.T and Mrs. N.T. L also thanked the Tan Thanh Ward Police and Ngoc Quang Retreat for their dedicated support and care for her during her journey. The above action demonstrates the spirit of responsibility and dedication of grassroots police officers and soldiers, contributing to building the image of a People's Police soldier who is close to the people, close to the people, and serves the people.
