QUANG TRI - After the fire in Dakrong commune, border guards and local authorities have supported the rebuilding of houses for poor households.

On March 3, Ba Nang Border Guard Station - Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command said that after 7 days of efforts, the unit, along with the government and people, completed the rebuilding of the fired house of Mr. Ho Van Hoi (born 1992, residing in Ra Poong village, Dakrong commune).

Previously, at about 1:30 pm on February 18, 2026, Mr. Hoi's house caught fire. Because the house was located in a high position, wooden structure, far from water sources, the fire was controlled at 4 pm on the same day.

The incident did not cause any casualties, but the entire 35m2 wooden house was burned down. Many assets and 25 million VND in cash were also burned, with total damage of nearly 217 million VND.

The cause was determined to be that the homeowner burned incense, and the incense burner fell on flammable items.

After the incident, the unit supported 5 million VND and necessities, and at the same time coordinated with the government and philanthropists to rebuild the stilt house for the family to stabilize their lives.
