According to the Lao Cai Provincial e-Portal, implementing the Action Month for Drug Prevention and Control (from June 1 to June 30, 2026) and responding to International Day, National Day for Drug Prevention and Control (June 26), Lao Cai province has synchronously implemented many solutions to propagate, fight, prevent and control crime, contributing to raising people's awareness and maintaining security and order.
The highlight of the action month is the rally and running race of the movement "Joining hands to build communes and wards without drugs" held on June 27th at 19/8 Square, Yen Bai ward.
The program connects online with a national rally, in which Lao Cai is one of the 6 localities broadcast live. Nearly 6,000 people participated at the provincial level bridge point, along with about 47,000 people in 95 communes and wards, raising the total number of responses to more than 53,000 - the largest scale ever.

Press and media agencies implemented 3,982 news, articles, reports, photos, clips and 64 propaganda columns; more than 20,000 banners and posters were used to spread the message of drug prevention and control.

Seized exhibits included heroin, synthetic drugs, opium, 240 bottles of CBD drug essential oil, 62 marijuana plants and many related exhibits.
