On June 9, the Military Command (CHQS) of Hue City said that the unit had just organized a field survey of the area suspected of having a mass grave of a martyr in residential group 15 Tay Loc, Phu Xuan ward, Hue City.
According to Mr. Le Van Luot (born 1956, residing on Tran Van Ky street, Phu Xuan ward), on January 25, 1968, he and his father passed through the area near Cua Chanh Tay, Hue Citadel and discovered a bomb crater nearly 3m deep with about 15 bodies of fallen soldiers gathered and buried here.
At the working session, some residents and living witnesses in residential group 15 Tay Loc also confirmed that they had witnessed the process of bringing martyrs' bodies to be buried in the bomb crater mentioned above. Currently, this area is located under the road intersection between Ton That Thiep street and Thai Phien street, next to Cua Chanh Tay, Hue Citadel.
Colonel Ha Van Ai - Deputy Political Commissar of Hue City Military Command - requested witnesses to continue to provide more related information. At the same time, direct Team 192 to coordinate in verifying and developing a plan to report to the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Hue City to deploy search and repatriation plans in the coming time.
