On July 2nd, the Vietnam Military-Civilian Medical Association coordinated with the People's Committee of Dat Do commune (HCMC) and accompanying units to organize a health screening program, free medicine distribution, and gift giving to policy families, people with meritorious services, and people in difficult circumstances in the commune.
This is an activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the city named after Uncle Ho; towards the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day and implementing the Prime Minister's directive on periodic health check-ups for the whole population.
In the program, about 500 people in difficult circumstances in Dat Do commune were clinically examined (general internal examination, blood pressure measurement, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal examination); paraclinical screening (fast blood sugar tests, electrocardiogram, X-ray, screening for chronic diseases). At the same time, they were advised on nutrition, lifestyle and how to manage personal health.
Many cases were also provided with free tonics and basic treatment drugs according to doctor's prescriptions. The program also presented meaningful gifts (necessities) to people in difficult circumstances and policy families.

According to the Organizing Committee, the program is not only a community health care activity but also has profound political - social and humane significance; expressing the morality of "drinking water, remembering the source", gratitude to heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers; continuing to spread the spirit of serving the people... Thereby contributing to strengthening the solidarity and bond between soldiers and people, joining hands to care for people's health and effectively implementing social security work in the area.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Military-Civilian Medical Association and Dat Do Commune People's Committee also organized incense and flower offerings to commemorate Heroic Martyr Vo Thi Sau - a staunch and indomitable female revolutionary soldier; together reviewing the heroic tradition, expressing sincerity and deep gratitude for the heroic sacrifices of heroic martyrs for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
