On March 28, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee just issued a plan to implement the Communication Program on Gender Equality in ethnic minority and mountainous areas (DTTS&MN) for the period 2026 - 2030, with the goal of creating a clear change in awareness and behavior throughout society.
The plan aims to improve the quality of propaganda work and effectively implement the communication program on gender equality.
At the same time, promote the good customs, habits, and traditions of ethnic groups.
Thereby, contributing to eliminating gender stereotypes, enhancing women's position and effectively implementing gender equality goals in the province.
According to the set target, by 2030, 100% of relevant agencies, units, and localities will develop and implement a plan to organize the Action Month for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence annually.
Over 80% of ethnic minority households have access to information about policies and laws related to gender equality.
In addition, 100% of village elders, village heads, and people with prestige in the community are disseminated laws and trained in propaganda skills about gender equality.
The province also sets a target to ensure that at least 40% of trainees participating in training classes on high-tech agriculture and circular economy are women.
At the same time, from 80% to 100% of cadres and civil servants working in ethnic minority, religious, and belief affairs are trained and fostered in knowledge and skills to implement gender equality work.
To achieve the above goals, Khanh Hoa has identified many key tasks such as promoting propaganda and dissemination of laws in a focused and key direction; building and replicating models to change "thinking styles and ways of doing things", and enhancing economic empowerment for women.
At the same time, the province focuses on strengthening the participation of women and children in socio-economic development activities, supervision and criticism; supporting women to participate in leadership in the political system; improving the capacity of cadres working on gender equality, especially gender integration skills in the field of ethnicity and religion.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to preside over and coordinate with agencies and localities to monitor and urge the implementation of the plan; organize propaganda, training, and mobilization to implement policies and laws on gender equality in accordance with the actual conditions of ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
