Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Vinh Gia Primary - Secondary Boarding School, in Vinh Gia commune, An Giang province.
The Vinh Gia Primary - Secondary Boarding School project was formed on the basis of merging 2 schools including Luong An Tra Primary School and Luong An Tra Secondary School, built on an area of nearly 43,000 m2, including more than 10,000 m2 of additional expansion area with an investment cost of more than 186 billion VND.
The school has a scale of about 45 classes, 1,500 students; including many newly built items such as the schoolyard block, 13 classrooms and music rooms; 10 public rooms, 36 male dormitories and 36 female dormitories; 330-seat dining room; Multi-purpose house... In addition, the school also has a vegetable garden, vegetable growing area, green trees for walking garden... and has invested in equipment to ensure national standard level 2.
According to the People's Committee of Vinh Gia commune: The facilities and teaching equipment of some schools are still not guaranteed, such as lack of functional rooms and boarding areas for students; Lack of teaching equipment, equipment for the 2018 general education program and information technology.
Therefore, the policy of building a Vinh Gia Primary - Secondary Boarding School will create better learning conditions for children in the commune and some neighboring areas. When an inter-level boarding school is established, the expected increase in the number of students transferred will be about 20-30%.
Also this morning, the People's Committee of An Giang province organized the groundbreaking ceremony for 2 school construction projects in the two border communes of Khanh Binh and Giang Thanh.
Of which, the Khanh An Boarding Primary and Secondary School Project (Khanh Binh Commune) is built with a scale of 45 classes, 1,500 students with a total investment of more than 13.7 billion VND. The project of the Giang Thanh Primary - Secondary Boarding School for Boarding Schools and Boarding Schools, Giang Thanh commune has a scale of 30 classes, 1,000 students with a total investment of more than 187 billion VND.
The ceremony also presented gifts and 20 scholarships to excellent students in difficult circumstances; presented 10 teachers in difficult circumstances, each teacher including 1 gift and 1 million VND.
An Giang is a province with a large area, diverse terrain, and a nearly 160.8 km long border with Cambodia. The lives of people on the border are still difficult, and the learning conditions of children in remote areas are lacking. Therefore, the policy of building Inter-level Primary and Secondary Boarding Schools in border communes has great significance - both contributing to improving people's knowledge, training human resources, fostering talents for the future, and spreading culture and fostering friendship between the people of Vietnam and Cambodia.
