According to VNA, Lai Chau Power Company has just organized a ceremony to energize the power supply project for remote villages and hamlets without national grid electricity in Tia Ma Mu village, Ta Tong commune.
The project has a total investment of more than 14.42 billion VND, including 9km of 35kV power lines, a transformer station and 4km of 0.4kV power lines. The project started on January 27, 2026 and completed all items on April 24, 2026, shortening more than 60 days compared to the plan.
At the ceremony, Director of Lai Chau Provincial Department of Industry and Trade Vuong The Man said that the completion of the project is of great significance when bringing national grid electricity to Tia Ma Mu village, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, maintaining political security and improving people's lives.

According to Director of Lai Chau Power Company Tran Kim Long, before this project, Tia Ma Mu was the last village of Ta Tong commune that did not have electricity and mobile signal.
The project helps increase the rate of villages and hamlets with electricity in the province to 954/956 villages, reaching 99.79%. The number of households using national grid electricity reached 104,524/107,003 households, equivalent to 97.69%. This is a premise for Lai Chau to strive to have 99% of households using national grid electricity by 2030 according to the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030. At the same time, Ta Tong commune completes the goal of 100% of villages having national grid electricity.
To bring electricity to each household, Lai Chau Power Company has installed 86 meters, supported free wiring labor with 107 workers, equivalent to about 37.5 million VND, helping people soon use electricity safely and stably.
Tia Ma Mu is a small village, about 50km from the center of Ta Tong commune, with 86 households with nearly 500 people, 100% of whom are Mong people. The village has 37 poor households and 13 near-poor households. Previously, without electricity, production activities were mainly manual, with low productivity.
Mr. Hang A Xa, a villager, said that in the past, people mainly grew corn, upland rice, and small-scale livestock. Without electricity, people could not use machinery such as water pumps and agricultural dryers. Now that there is grid electricity, he plans to invest in machinery to develop the economy and improve life.
On this occasion, Lai Chau Power Company commended 3 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in the project implementation process, contributing to bringing the project to completion early, ensuring safety and quality.
