At 2:00 p.m. on August 9, 2025, the Phu My Border Guard Station Working Group coordinated with the Giang Thanh Commune Military Command to organize a patrol and ambush in the area of marker 304/6, in Group 1, Tra Pho Hamlet, Giang Thanh Commune, An Giang Province.
During the mission, the authorities discovered 3 vehicles traveling from Cambodia to Vietnam near the edge of the Giang Thanh River.
The inspection team discovered 12 boxes of smuggled foreign cigarettes (with 6,000 packs of cigarettes, 3 old motorbikes without license plates, 3 drivers). The subjects fled, leaving behind 3 motorbikes and cigarettes.
The working group brought the vehicles and exhibits to the unit for handling according to regulations.
