Son La - "For peace in villages" festival in Van Ho commune spreads the spirit of being close to the people, supporting social security, promoting local culture and agricultural products.

On May 16, in Chieng Di 2 village, Van Ho commune, Son La province, the Department of Communications of the People's Police coordinated with the Son La Provincial Police, MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation and accompanying units to organize the "People's Police Press and Communications Festival towards grassroots levels" with the theme "For peace in villages".

According to the Organizing Committee, the selection of Son La, especially Van Ho commune - an area once complex in terms of drugs and security and order - as a starting point has many meanings, contributing to spreading the image of a police officer close to the people, serving the people.

Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Hang - Deputy Director of the Public Security Communications Department said that the program is a practical activity to concretize the emulation movement "Three Firsts: Most Disciplined - Most Loyal - Closest to the People" launched by the Ministry of Public Security; and at the same time express the spirit of innovation, towards grassroots levels, taking the people as the center in the press and communication work of the Public Security Forces.

Within the framework of the program, many exciting activities took place such as experiencing community cultural space, highland market fair, making banh day, sạp dance, throwing pao, check-in "Village Smile", visiting exhibition booths of ANTV, CAND Newspaper, MobiFone, Son La Provincial Police, Commune Police...

Many "zero-dollar" booths and local agricultural product booths are also organized to serve people. In addition, there are legal propaganda activities, mobilizing the handover of homemade weapons, supporting people to access digital transformation, promoting OCOP products and local tourism on digital platforms.

At the activity of exchanging homemade weapons for gifts, Mr. Ly Van Dau, Sao Do 2 sub-area, Van Ho commune, said that after picking up an old flintlock gun in the fields, he brought it to hand over and was propagated and guided by commune police officers not to store or use homemade weapons and explosives illegally and was exchanged for gifts to take home.
