Nghe An mobilizes more than 508 billion VND to care for the poor

Nghe An - More than 508 billion VND from the "For the Poor" Fund and the Relief Fund has been mobilized, contributing to supporting hundreds of thousands of people in difficult circumstances to stabilize their lives.

On April 23, the Mobilization Committee of the "For the Poor" Fund and the Nghe An Provincial Relief Fund said that in 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, mobilization work achieved many positive results, creating important resources to care for the poor, vulnerable and people affected by natural disasters.

Specifically, the whole province has mobilized more than 116.2 billion VND for the "For the Poor" Fund and more than 392.3 billion VND for the Relief Fund, raising the total socialized resources to more than 508 billion VND. From this resource, levels and sectors have supported building Great Solidarity houses, developing livelihoods, and implementing many social security activities, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction.

Notably, the "Lam River Affection - Binh Ngo Spring 2026" program created widespread spread. As of April 15, 2026, there were 441 agencies, units, businesses and philanthropists participating in support, with a total value of more than 191.3 billion VND, including cash and converted in kind.

From receiving sources, the whole province has supported 119,568 poor and near-poor households and vulnerable groups in 130/130 communes and wards. In which, 100% of poor households and 93% of near-poor households were supported with Tet gifts.

In addition, 11,570 people who are poor patients, people with disabilities, orphans of social protection and 30,757 policy households, people with meritorious services, workers, and laborers in difficult circumstances were cared for. In particular, 540 households whose houses were collapsed or swept away by storms and floods were directly supported with many practical gifts.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (Fatherland Front) of Nghe An province Vo Thi Minh Sinh highly appreciated the involvement of the entire political system in mobilizing resources to support the poor and vulnerable.

According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, the core role of the Fatherland Front at all levels is clearly promoted, contributing to spreading the spirit of "leaving no one behind". The management, allocation and use of funds are carried out promptly, publicly, transparently, and for the right purpose, thereby creating trust for businesses, philanthropists and people.
