On August 12, 2026, the People's Committee of Nghe An province organized a meeting with typical prestigious people among ethnic minorities (DTTS) in 2026.
The ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Nghe An have an area of 13,745km2, accounting for 83% of the total natural area of the province, with more than 1.2 million people. The ethnic minority population is more than 540,000 people, belonging to 47 ethnic groups living together.
Over the past time, prestigious people have played a role in propagating the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State; participating in building the political system at the grassroots level, reconciling conflicts, consolidating the great national unity bloc. Many people actively develop the economy, support poor households, build new rural areas, preserve culture and maintain security, order, and border sovereignty.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai affirmed that reputable people are a bridge between Party committees, authorities and people, the core force in propaganda and mobilization of people and a reliable support in the community. The Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and praised the contributions of reputable people to the development of the province.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested all levels and sectors to continue to identify ethnic minority affairs and development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas as tasks of the entire political system; prioritize resources for difficult areas, shifting from simple support to creating livelihoods and improving capacity for people to rise up on their own.
The Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Nghe An province is assigned to take the lead in reviewing and urging the implementation of ethnic minority programs and policies; deploying tasks according to Decree No. 307/2026/ND-CP dated August 4, 2026 of the Government on selecting, recognizing and policy for people with prestige among ethnic minorities, creating conditions for this team to promote their role.
Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee wishes prestigious people in the province to continue to promote the spirit of exemplary behavior, accompany Party committees and authorities, mobilize people to unite, develop the economy, and build villages that are increasingly prosperous and peaceful.
