In many rural areas of Ninh Binh, spacious Great Solidarity houses are gradually replacing dilapidated roofs. Not only helping the poor stabilize their lives, the program also spreads the spirit of mutual affection, becoming a highlight in building new rural areas, according to VNA.
Ms. Bach Thi Nhuan's family (born in 1987, Dong Van ward, Ninh Binh) used to live in a level 4 house that had existed for about 60 years, seriously degraded. After her husband passed away in 2018, she worked as a worker alone to raise two children to study. Having a new house was once beyond her ability.
Faced with that situation, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Van ward coordinated with the Red Cross Society and businesses to organize the construction of Great Solidarity houses with a total budget of over 350 million VND.
Ms. Nhuan emotionally said: "When my husband died, my family fell into all kinds of difficulties. I didn't dare to dream of having a new house. By 2026, thanks to everyone's help, my children and I have a stable place to live to feel secure in raising our children.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Tam - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Van ward, building Great Solidarity houses not only provides material support but also adds motivation for families to overcome difficulties.
In Phat Diem commune, many poor households have also been settled thanks to the "Warm Solidarity and Education" program. Ms. Nguyen Thi Muoi's family (hamlet 1, Thuong Kiem) - a Catholic household, old and weak - was supported to build a new house worth 300 million VND. She shared her emotion when receiving the joint efforts of religious organizations and the local community.
From 2025 to April 2026, Phat Diem commune started construction of 10 new houses and repaired 7 houses with a total cost of more than 1.5 billion VND from socialization sources.
Mr. Vu Xuan Thai - Standing Vice Chairman of Phat Diem Commune People's Committee - said that the locality always mobilizes the participation of organizations, religions and people to support difficult households, regardless of religious or non-religious backgrounds.
On a provincial scale, in the period 2021-2025, the "For the Poor" Fund and social security funds mobilized more than 243.4 billion VND, supporting the construction of 2,121 new houses (50-100 million VND per house) and repairing 582 houses. In parallel, the movements "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" and "The whole country joins hands for the poor" were effectively implemented.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Ha - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Binh province - said that the Fatherland Front at all levels has focused resources on grassroots levels, helping people stabilize their housing and gradually improve their lives.
In the coming time, the Ninh Binh Provincial Fatherland Front will continue to promote the role of connecting social resources, supporting housing and livelihoods for people. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Dinh Thi Lua affirmed that the locality will promote the mobilization of the "For the Poor" Fund, contributing to ensuring social security, leaving no one behind.
