On November 3 and 4, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command coordinated with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, the Party Committee - People's Committee of Ha Tien Ward to organize the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" in 2025.
The program is implemented with many simultaneous activities such as: Organizing flower offerings and incense offerings at the Cemetery; Propaganda, legal education, social security activities and marine environmental protection. demonstrate the high sense of responsibility of officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command towards the people in Ha Tien Ward.
At the Program, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command organized a propaganda film screening of " mock trial" - a typical criminal case on IUU fishing; organized propaganda and dissemination of regulations on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, Law on Fisheries, Law on Vietnam Coast Guard... to delegates who are civil servants, public employees, association members and owners of fishing vessels and fishermen in the area.
Districtling more than 300 leaflets, 200 propaganda handbooks and 250 legal books, helping fishermen grasp the regulations when going out to sea. Presenting national flags, photos of Uncle Ho and medical bags to fishing vessels. Along with that, the unit presented 30 gifts (each worth 1 million VND) to 30 poor, near-poor households and fishermen in difficult circumstances.
The Youth Union of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command and the Ha Tien Ward Youth Union organized a general cleaning of the marine environment, collecting more than 1.5 tons of various types of waste and bringing it to the treatment site.
Speaking at the Program, Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong - Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command said: The program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" is a major activity, demonstrating the political responsibility of the Vietnam Coast Guard towards the people, especially fishermen - those who stick to the sea day and night, contributing to protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
We hope that fishermen will continue to promote the tradition of patriotism, uphold vigilance, strictly comply with the law, become a milestone of life at sea, contributing with the Vietnam Coast Guard to build an increasingly solid national defense posture and a people's security posture at sea, emphasized Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong.
The activities not only contribute to improving the material and spiritual life and awareness of law compliance for fishermen but also firmly strengthen the solidarity between the army and people, firmly protect sovereignty, security and safety of the southwestern sea and islands of the Fatherland.
