In recent years, joint patrol coordination between Tinh Bien International Border Gate Border Guard Station, An Giang Provincial Border Guard (Vietnam) and border protection forces of the Kingdom of Cambodia has become a regular, orderly activity and has brought many practical effects. This is not only an important solution to manage and firmly protect territorial sovereignty and national border security, but also contributes to consolidating the solidarity and friendship relationship between border protection forces and people of the two countries.
Implementing the cooperation agreement documents between the two sides, in the past time, officers and soldiers of Tinh Bien International Border Gate Border Guard Station and Cambodian border protection forces have regularly organized joint field patrols, inspected border lines and markers, and exchanged information related to security and order in border areas. Patrol activities are deployed in accordance with principles and border guard foreign affairs protocols, demonstrating the spirit of respecting sovereignty, equality and cooperation for joint development.

“Through joint patrols, the two sides have promptly detected and prevented acts of violating border regulations, illegal entry and exit, smuggling, illegal transportation of goods and types of crimes operating on the border line. At the same time, regular on-site inspections help ensure that the border system and markers are kept in their original state, without any situation of encroachment or moving border markers...” Major Phan Vinh Phu, Deputy Commander of Tinh Bien International Border Gate Border Guard Station, said.
One of the outstanding effectivenesses of joint patrol activities is improving the quality of information exchange between the functional forces of the two countries. In the process of performing tasks, the two sides regularly inform each other about the situation in the area, methods of operation of all types of crimes and issues arising related to border security. From there, proactively build coordination measures to handle, prevent complicated incidents from occurring, contributing to maintaining stability in the border area.
Major Phan Vinh Phu added: "Besides the task of protecting territorial sovereignty, joint patrol activities also contribute to strengthening border guard foreign affairs. Through meetings, talks and patrols, officers and soldiers of the two sides are increasingly understanding and trusting each other, building a relationship of solidarity, friendship and close cooperation. This is an important foundation for effectively resolving issues arising at the border by peaceful means, in accordance with the agreements signed between the two countries".
Reality shows that, thanks to maintaining good joint patrols, combined with legal propaganda, the political security and social order and safety situation in the border area under the responsibility of both sides has always been maintained. The awareness of law compliance of border residents is increasingly improved. Economic and cultural exchange and cooperation activities between people on both sides of the border are developing smoothly. This contributes to building a border line of peace, friendship, stability and sustainable development.

In the coming time, Tinh Bien International Border Gate Border Guard Station will continue to strengthen coordination with Cambodian border protection forces to strictly maintain the common patrol regime, exchange information and coordinate the fight against all kinds of crimes. Thereby, contributing to firmly protecting territorial sovereignty, national border security, and at the same time fostering the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, for the sustainable development of people on both sides of the border.
