Vinh Long - Fish release activities to regenerate aquatic resources on the Hau River contribute to restoring the ecosystem and raising environmental awareness.

On May 22nd, Tra On commune organized a fish release ceremony to regenerate aquatic resources on the Hau River, celebrating the Vesak of Buddha 2570 - Solar 2026.

At the ceremony, 2 tons of catfish fry were released into the river to contribute to restoring and developing natural aquatic resources and raising people's awareness of protecting the ecological environment.

Through activities, the locality propagates to people not to exploit and catch aquatic products in destructive forms such as using electric shock, explosives, toxic substances and prohibited fishing gear.

The total cost of implementation is more than 120 million VND, supported by Nun Thich Nu Duc Quang - abbot of Thien Phuoc Pagoda, hamlet 5, Tra On commune, connecting Buddhists.

From the beginning of 2026 to now, Tra On commune has organized the release of more than 6 tons of seed fish of all kinds into the Hau River with a total cost of more than 360 million VND, contributing to restoring aquatic resources and protecting the local ecological environment.
