On August 14, information from Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just signed a decision regulating the list of establishments to provide personal belongings and school supplies for students of boarding general schools in border communes.
According to the decision, from the 2026-2027 school year, boarding high school students in border communes are equipped with uniforms and school supplies annually. Personal items are issued once in each grade level.
For the list of supplies issued annually, primary, secondary and high school students are provided with winter uniforms, summer uniforms, school bags or backpacks, notebooks, school papers, ballpoint pens, black pencils, erasers and a set of mathematical tools.
In addition to the above items, elementary school students are provided with scissors and colored pencil boxes; secondary and high school students are equipped with pocket calculators.
For personal items issued once in each grade level, primary, secondary and high school students are issued 11 types, including: blankets, mosquito nets, mats, pillows, personal mattresses, raincoats or rain umbrellas, clothes hangers, indoor sandals, plastic water buckets, plastic basins and thermos flasks.
Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches, units, and localities to guide and organize implementation; monitor, inspect and promptly advise on resolving arising difficulties and obstacles.
The Department of Finance is responsible for coordinating to advise on the allocation of funds, guiding and inspecting the management and use of funds according to regulations.
People's Committees of land border communes direct educational institutions under their management to prepare estimates, summarize them into local budget estimates and inspect the implementation of policies.
Boarding schools base on the number of students eligible for benefits and the list of supplies to build estimates; organize procurement and supplies to the right subjects, standards, norms and publicly according to regulations.
This is the first school year that Thanh Hoa province has implemented the provision of school supplies and personal belongings for students of boarding general schools in border communes.
In the 2026-2027 school year, 6 boarding schools in border communes will be put into use, including schools in Tam Thanh, Tam Lu, Son Thuy, Na Meo, Yen Khuong and Bat Mot communes.
