On July 21, Brigade 950, Military Region 9 coordinated with the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone to organize the handover of gratitude houses to policy families living in Suoi Lon Duong To neighborhood, Phu Quoc special zone. This is an activity to show gratitude to celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day July 27.
The house of gratitude was awarded to Ms. Vo Thi Thau, 73 years old, a 4/4 wounded soldier with difficult housing circumstances, currently residing in Suoi Lon Duong To neighborhood, Phu Quoc special zone.
Previously, Ms. Thau lived in a degraded, cramped house that was not safe. Due to old age and loss of working capacity, the family did not have the conditions to build or repair a house. Faced with that situation, Brigade 950, Military Region 9 coordinated with local authorities to survey the reality and support the construction of a gratitude house for her. After a period of construction, the house was completed and handed over for use with a structure of concrete walls, corrugated iron roof, tiled floor, meeting living needs, helping Ms. Thau's family have a stable place to live. The construction cost was supported by Military Region 9 with 80 million VND, and the rest was contributed by the family and relatives.
The handover of gratitude houses is a practical activity to celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day July 27, showing the concern and care of the Party, State, armed forces and local authorities for people with meritorious services to the revolution. The activity contributes to effectively implementing the "Gratitude" movement, the military rear policy, promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember the source", and encouraging policy families to rise up to stabilize their lives.
On this occasion, Brigade 950 also organized visits and gifts to policy families, and offered incense at Phu Quoc Prison.
