After nearly 1 year of operating the 2-level local government model, many new rural construction movements in Hien Khanh commune, Ninh Binh province are spreading strongly. From widened roads, old cultural houses to community service works being renovated and built with socialized resources, the rural appearance here is changing day by day thanks to the consensus of the people.
These days, in Bai Pham village, the community activity yard project of nearly 800m2 has been completed. Few people know that this land used to be a wasteland, with weeds growing lushly, affecting the environment and aesthetics of the residential area.
Mr. Pham Van Nghia - Head of Bai Pham village said that after the local government launched a movement to build community-serving works, the idea of building a common living yard quickly received the response of the people.
Initially, the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee was the pioneer in supporting funding. Since then, the movement has spread widely. The village has mobilized people and children far from home to join hands in contributing, we have mobilized more than 160 million VND to implement the project," Mr. Nghia shared.
According to Mr. Nghia, when completed, the community activity yard will be a place to organize cultural, artistic, sports and meetings of people in the village.
Not only in Bai Pham, the movement to build community projects is also taking place sôi nổi in many villages and hamlets in Hien Khanh commune. In Hoi hamlet, previously narrow roads have now been expanded thanks to many households voluntarily donating land. The synchronous lighting system is invested to help village roads become brighter at night. Degraded community activity points and spiritual areas are also contributed by people to renovate and repair.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - a resident of Hoi hamlet expressed: "The thing that makes me happiest is that the spirit of solidarity in the community is increasingly being promoted. Everyone is aware that the project serves their own lives, so they are willing to contribute labor and property. Some people donate land, some people support funding, some people participate in labor days. Thanks to that, many things that were previously thought to be difficult have now been done.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Chairman of Hien Khanh Commune People's Committee said that after operating the 2-level local government model, the locality proactively implemented many tasks close to the grassroots reality. In the coming time, the commune will continue to mobilize socialized resources to invest in infrastructure construction, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
Besides the value of infrastructure, the works formed from the joint efforts of the people also show the spirit of solidarity, community responsibility and high consensus between the government and the people. This is also an important foundation for the locality to continue to effectively implement movements to build new rural areas, towards building an increasingly civilized and prosperous homeland.
