Recorded on June 14, a large number of people, monks, nuns, and Buddhists attended the memorial ceremony - requiem for heroic martyrs and patriotic compatriots who sacrificed at Le Thi Rieng Park. The ceremony took place in a solemn and respectful atmosphere.
Attending the ceremony, Mr. Phan Xuan Hoai - a veteran, Ho Chi Minh City - said that he was very touched to witness a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and people participating in activities to express gratitude to heroes and martyrs. This ceremony not only warmed the hearts of those left behind but also partly soothed the pain of families whose loved ones sacrificed for national independence.
Mr. Hoai also expressed his gratitude to the Party, State, forces performing the task of collecting martyrs' remains and the consensus of the whole society in the journey to search for those remaining after the war. This is not only a responsibility to the families of martyrs but also a sacred gesture of the whole nation towards those who sacrificed for the Fatherland.

Sharing the same gratitude, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong (HCMC) brought her daughter to attend the ceremony to commemorate the soldiers who sacrificed for the Fatherland.
I came here with gratitude to the soldiers who fell for the country. For many years, there have been martyrs who have not been found, so when I learned about this memorial ceremony, I really hoped to attend to pray for the heroes and martyrs to rest in peace" - Ms. Thuong shared.
According to Ms. Thuong, bringing her children to participate is a way to educate the young generation about the tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source", knowing how to cherish the sacrifices of previous generations.
The memorial ceremony was organized by the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City in the spirit of promoting the tradition of protecting the country and peace for the people of Vietnamese Buddhism, towards the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026).
The memorial ceremony is held in the context that the Ho Chi Minh City Command is making efforts to search for and repatriate martyrs' remains at Do Thanh Cemetery (Chi Hoa - Saigon, now Le Thi Rieng Park, Hoa Hung ward). Research results show that there is a basis to determine that this area exists 3 mass grave trenches with a number of martyrs of about 900 people.
